Establishment Objectives
The laboratory, located in Room S407 of the Information Building, was established with the primary goal of providing necessary resources for graduate students in the department.
This laboratory serves as a venue for graduate courses and for exploring theoretical and applied research related to theses, aiming to effectively enhance the research outcomes of graduate students in the department.
Additionally,it hopes to foster close bonds among graduate students through shared living and learning spaces, shaping a family-like culture.
Laboratory Management
The resources of this laboratory are designated for use by graduate students in the department. A full-time faculty member from the department is assigned to serve as the supervisor of this laboratory.
However, the supervisor may appoint a graduate student to serve as the laboratory coordinator, who will assist him in handling related matters.
Apart from academic research, we also encourage graduate students to use the experimental space to organize various social activities to enhance mutual relationships. However, they must ensure that the space is cleaned up properly after the activity to maintain the laboratory’s cleanliness.
Laboratory Management Regulations
In light of the fact that this laboratory is designated for use by graduate students in the department to facilitate their research activities, the following management regulations are established to ensure the proper and safe use of laboratory resources:
1️⃣ The resources of this laboratory are primarily reserved for graduate students in the department. Access to the laboratory is controlled through individual access cards.
2️⃣ Graduate students must obtain prior approval from the supervising professor before using laboratory resources. Access can only be reinstated after the supervising professor investigates the matter, takes necessary actions, and grants approval.
3️⃣ Any changes to laboratory resources must receive prior approval from the supervising professor and be carried out with the assistance of departmental teaching assistants. The supervising professor must also be notified of such changes after they are made.
4️⃣ In the event of damage, malfunction, or improper use of laboratory resources, the supervising professor and departmental teaching assistants must be notified immediately. They will investigate the cause and take necessary measures to address the situation.
5️⃣ Laboratory resources must be inventoried by departmental teaching assistants at the end of each semester. The supervising professor must be informed of the results of the inventory. In cases of missing or damaged resources, the supervising professor and the department chair must be notified to investigate the cause and take appropriate actions.
