Ming Chuan University Department of Information Management Procedures for Graduation Requirements<\/h4>\n<h6 style=\"font-weight:normal\">\nApproved by the Department Curriculum and Affairs Committee on March 26, 2010<br>\nReviewed and approved by the Academic Affairs Committee on December 3, 2009<br>\nAmended and approved by the Academic Affairs Committee on June 3, 2010<br>\nApproved by the Department Curriculum and Affairs Committee on March 30, 2012<br>\nReviewed and approved by the Academic Affairs Committee on May 3, 2012<br>\nApproved by the Department Curriculum and Affairs Committee on March 22, 2013<br>\nApproved by the Department Curriculum and Affairs Committee on October 11, 2013<br>\nAmended and approved by the Department Curriculum and Affairs Committee on September 22, 2017<br>\nAmended and approved by the Department Curriculum and Affairs Committee on January 19, 2022<br>\n<\/h6>\n<br>\n<h5 style=\"font-weight:normal\">\n\nArticle 1<br><br>\t\nTo enhance students\u2019 competitiveness in further studies and employment, the Department of Information Management has established these Implementation Guidelines for the Professional Competency Assessment (hereinafter referred to as &#8220;these Guidelines&#8221;) in accordance with the Ming Chuan University Implementation Regulations for Graduation Requirements Assessment.<br><br>\nArticle 2<br><br>\nUndergraduate students admitted from the 2010 academic year onward must meet the university\u2019s graduation assessment standards for Service Learning, English Proficiency, Information Literacy, Chinese Proficiency, and Physical Fitness, as well as the Basic Competency Assessment set forth in these Guidelines in order to graduate.<br><br>\nGraduate students must pass the professional competency assessment standards specified by their respective departments and programs to be eligible for graduation.<br><br>\n\nArticle 3<br><br>\nStudents must complete the Basic Competency Assessment during their period of study. The assessment categories and standards are as follows:<br><br>\n<table class=\"table table-bordered\">\n<tr>\n<th>Program<\/th><th>Core Competencies<\/th><th>Assessment Criteria<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td rowspan=\"3\">Undergraduate<\/td><td>Programming Skills<\/td><td>Obtain OCJP certification or pass the college programming exam<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Information System Development Project Execution<\/td><td>Pass the final project review<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Enterprise Digitalization Expertise<\/td><td>Obtain at least one professional certification from Cisco, Oracle, or a related enterprise digitalization field<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n\n<tr>\n<td rowspan=\"2\">Master&#8217;s Program<\/td><td>Professional Paper Reading and Analysis<\/td><td>Pass the review of a professional paper or literature review report<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Research Paper Writing<\/td><td>Publish a research paper in a journal or conference<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n\n<tr>\n<td rowspan=\"2\">In-Service Master\u2019s Program<\/td><td>Professional Paper Reading and Analysis<\/td><td>Complete reviews of at least 5 professional course papers<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>In-Depth Perspectives in a Specialized Research Field<\/td><td>Thesis defense (in-depth analysis and discussion of relevant literature)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<br>\nArticle 4<br><br>\nUndergraduate students who fail to meet the Enterprise Digitalization Competency Assessment standards outlined in the previous article before graduation must complete and pass at least 6 credits of professional elective courses listed in Appendix 3. These credits cannot be counted toward graduation credits.<br><br>\nArticle 5<br><br>\nStudents who pass the Basic Competency Assessment must submit their scores or other relevant certification documents to the department. Upon approval, their results will be recorded as &#8220;Assessment Passed&#8221;.<br><br>\nArticle 6 <br><br>\nThese Guidelines shall be implemented upon approval by the Department Affairs Committee, College Affairs Committee, and Academic Affairs Committee, and upon final approval by the University President. Any amendments shall follow the same procedure.<br><br>\n\n<\/h5>\n<h4>\nB. Ming Chuan University Procedures for Graduation Requirements<\/h4>\n<h6 style=\"font-weight:normal\">\nPassed at the Academic Affairs Committee Meeting on December 3, 2009<br>\nPassed at the University Affairs Committee Meeting on January 4, 2010<br>\nRevised and passed at the Academic Affairs Committee Meeting on June 3, 2010<br>\nPassed at the University Affairs Committee Meeting on June 7, 2010<br>\nReported as Tai Gao (2) 1010243666 on December 26, 2012<br><br>\n<\/h6>\n<h5 style=\"font-weight:normal\">\n\nArticle 1<br><br>\t\nWith an aim to prepare students for their future careers and further studies,these regulations were established to improve students\u2019 competencies in Service-Learning, Information Technology, Sports, English and Chinese abilities, as well as professional competencies.<br><br>\nArticle 2<br><br>\nTo attain graduation eligibility, undergraduate students (except for students studying in Three-year Work Experience Degree Completion Program) admitted in the 2010-11 academic year and beyond must meet the graduation requirements specified in these procedures and the enforcement rules for Service-Learning, English proficiency, Information Technology proficiency, Chinese proficiency and Sports capability, as well as the professional competencies regulated by the academic unit to which they belong.\nGraduate students must meet the graduation requirements for professional competency regulated by the department or school to which they belong.<br><br>\nArticle 3<br><br>\t\nGraduation requirements for returning students and transfer students will be the requirements for the year in which they resume or commence their studies.<br><br>\nArticle 4<br><br>\t\nRegulations regarding graduation requirements should be clearly specified in the curriculum of each academic unit.<br><br>\nArticle 5<br><br>\t\nStudents who fail any of the proficiency tests must enroll in specified remedial courses to attain graduation eligibility. The remedial courses will be offered during the semester or summer break by relevant academic units. The course fees will be collected in accordance with the standard fee for summer courses.<br><br>\nArticle 6<br><br>\t\nStudents who meet the graduation requirements for a proficiency test should submit the original certificate or score report to the department, school or degree program to which they belong for review. After completion of these procedures, the students will be verified as meeting the graduation requirements.<br><br>\nArticle 7<br><br>\t\nThe proficiency-based graduation requirements (Service-Learning, English proficiency, Information Technology proficiency, Chinese proficiency and Sports capability) are specified in the enforcement rules established by the relevant academic units. Upon being passed at the Academic Affairs Committee Meeting and approved by the president, the enforcement rules were implemented.\nThe graduation requirements for professional competencies will follow the same procedures. Upon being passed at the Department\/School\/Academic Affairs Committee Meetings and approved by the president, the enforcement rules were implemented.<br><br>\nArticle 8<br><br>\t\nUpon being passed at the University Affairs Committee Meeting and submitted to the Ministry of Education for reference, there procedures were announced and implemented.
